Today was the 2nd day of working on the initials brief. Our task now is not just to pump out ideas, but to pump out ideas relevant to our partners initials (So my initials to work with will be R and W)
I felt after yesterday I needed much more idea generation to inform myself as my bank of plans was slowly running dry. To help inspire me a bit more I made a mind map plotting out key points about Rosie and what she enjoyed doing - getting a taste more for what she was into and what made her tic.
Putting it into a format that was easier to digest made it somewhat easier to drag ideas from it. From this I started plotting a second sheet - this one a page of R's
I was proud that i'd almost managed to fill an entire sheet this second time round. I used lots of different media for this one - biro, ink, markers, fineliners - anything sketchy and rough. I stopped thinking about the visual quality so much and more about just throwing out as many things I possibly could. Again, much like the work I did yesterday - the simplest ideas seemed to work the best. My personal favourite (though not very clear in the photo) looked almost constructivist in its tone, and though I don't think that sort of harsh style suits rosie much, I think it could eventually be elaborated on quite nicely.
Next up tomorrow is another page of W's. I think I need to remember to keep things simple and not overcomplicate my ideas, because so far the strongest ones and the ones with the least going on in them.
