Tools Used: Collage/Acrylic, Illustrator, Photoshop and Paintbucket
Running off the back of the line task, we had to start creating images using shape as the main form. I really, REALLY enjoyed working in this way. The simplicity of just being able to draw a silhouette and then work detail into it not only forces you to only include the most important information, it allows you to really exaggerate and push the pose and the gesture of what you're drawing (which is super fun and totally suits my method of working)
The first two birds were drawn by altering the width of paths in illustrator - I then turned them into birds using the extra shape tools, something I'm new to doing and turned out pretty nicely. Kinda limited to silhouettes, but great for creating simple characters.
I found working digitally with shapes was more pleasant and less time consuming than working analogously. I found physical shape collage was messy, and took a long time to do compared to just using the tablet - which is why I tended to drift onto that instead. Its something I might experiment mixing though.
