Compared to some other metro stations, the Berlin line isn't as comparatively big but it has a rich history through surviving world war 2 and the divide of west and east berlin during the times of the cold war. The berlin underground consists of two main train lines - the S bahn and the U bahn and as a rail network its well known for having a really vivid range of architecture and tile design from years of adding bits and bobs through history.
Iconically, the U-bahn has really distinct bright yellow trains that service it. They also have really funkily patterned camo-print seats that I think are also pretty distinct - I definately recognise and associate seat patterns with places I travel on (though that might largely be because Im a sad design student who probably need to put the creative goggles down)
Key visual stuff of note for berlin's U and S-Bahn
- Historical mishmash of tiles and tunnel architecture
- Bright yellow trains
- Camo seats.
