These are the scans of the stamps at raw-image level - pre edit and freshly scanned.

In order to prepare them for the final images, I used a mixture of the Clone Stamp Tool and a Textured brush to smooth out and neaten the shape of the hats, and any imperfections in the textures picked up from the scanner - like scissor errors, fluffy edges etc....
To make them look much more like legitimate 'stamps', I added a queen's head watermark and a postage indicator, I then resized them and added some makeshift 'perforations' that could be cut if you were wanting to make them look extra authentic.
Final Stamps
Super pleased with how these are looking. Despite neatening, I've still managed to keep the collaged quality of them, which I think is better for authentically communicating the traditional black and white vibe of charlie chaplin's films.
