OUIL503 Responsive Collaboration Practice - Further Development

Even though WHISTLES as a brand has a very minimal aesthetic, I was feeling the box designs I'd been looking at before had either been too dull or too complex, and weren't really close to anything i'd associate with WHISTLES.

I was thinking about the actual bottle, and the scent itself (though this was more Sophie's department) - Taking queues from their collections, with really earthy and mineral tones I started to think away from the usual tropes of perfume (stuff like flowers for women and water for men) and started looking at the patterns of natural rock formations instead. I also thought it would fit in with the geometry of the paper packaging too:

I also saw mock-ups for a really cool hotel that was designed to look like an Amethyst slice, the look of which would look pretty cool incorporated into a perfume bottle

The other benefit of looking into rock inspired packaging is also that its non-gender specific, and would work for both men and women.

I put this idea to Sophie, who liked the idea too - who then made a pattern that could be used in further packaging ideas.
