Our study task at the end of the collage workshop was to create 16 images of the same motif using a different combination of collage and line. Heres the 16 I ended up with -
The ones That I used collage in tended to turn out the most successful - they were the most time consuming as well! I actually really liked the technique of cutting out shapes and working in the detail on top over it, something i've often done digitally but never really tried out analogously before - so that was a pleasant surprise.
For this session, we had an interim crit in groups of four - just to go through all the work we've done so far. It was a really informative session, if not about my own work it was good to see how everyone else had responded to the task differently. I think generally I just ned to loosen up a bit and try and explore areas of work I havent tried more.
